Colby McKercher has been given a role this season off a half forward flank, which at North Melbourne during its current rebuild has been a bit of a death knell for fantasy value with the likes of Tom Powell and Will Phillips disappearing for weeks at a time in that position. There will come a time when he is shifted into the middle to join the rest of the young and highly-rated early draft picks in there for the developing Kangaroos, but for now he bides his time and learns the trade while not being exposed to too much buffeting for his slighter frame.
