Josh Gibcus was a highly-rated junior and duly went fairly early in the 2021 draft, going to Richmond which was looking for some key defender talent so much that it committed early to playing him from the start of the 2022 season. This made him popular in salary cap competitions where rookies with job security are always in the mix, but his campaign so far has been a lesson in why fantasy coaches usually look beyond key position players for value in rookie stocks. He is a slow burn at best, with not much potential for a break-out game to really pump his cash generation.
