Brayden Sier has always been a fringe player at Collingwood, blessed as it has been during Nathan Buckley's reign with a surfeit of A-grade inside midfielders. Like his teammate Rupert Wills, he lacks pace off the mark and instead concentrates on inside grunt with a lot of tackles and defensive work. You only need one blocker in a modern midfield though, and many don't even have one.A series of injuries haven't helped Sier's cause, and the recent back office focus on recruiting more mids tells us Sier is unlikely to graduate to best 22 unless he moves on.
