MID-SEASON REVIEW (posted 2010-06-16 21:56:49)
Matthew Boyd was once underrated by both the general public and fantasy minds alike, but is more recognised nowadays due to his in-and-under work. He and Daniel Cross are the leading contested ball winners at the Western Bulldogs, and one of the most consistent players in their team.

Boyd is a durable player, but a hand injury has seen him miss two matches this season so far, which are the first matches he has missed in five years. He has an average of 111 in DT at the halfway point of the season, which is a remarkable achievement considering his output was lower than usual for the first couple of weeks coming off the hand injury. He has managed a low score of 75 with his highest being 156 against Hawthorn. Additionally, he has managed seven tons out of 10 games played.

Boyd's price peaked at $478,800 and has been low as $416,300 this season. Currently he is priced at $427,000 which is relatively cheap for a premium midfielder.

PLAYER DISCUSSION
Seems like Boyds starting to get recognised! - elite - 2 months ago
@lachus: Then - 'tags, now - Boyd. Both are top 6 in DT or thereabouts. Boyd should be a great point of differentiation in your Mids. - Disco DB - 2 months ago

Boyd all day everyday in DT mate. Judd is the preferred in SC. Although he might take a few weeks to get back into the swing of things and he gets tagged and Boyd doesnt. Plus Boyd is in a rich vein of form at the moment and his injury record is amazing. So probably Boyd all round for mine. - migman19 - 4 months ago
Boyd or Judd? - snudz - 4 months ago

He's a fantastic SC player, I've had him from day one. He really does fly under the radar. Not to mention how cheap he is ... ;) - lexii 96 - 13 months ago
