Aussie squad was named this morning.

Aussie ODI squad: Smith (c), Warner, Bailey, Boland, Hazlewood, Faulkner, Finch, MMarsh, SMarsh, Maxwell, Richardson, Paris, Wade #AUSvIND

Looks like Maxi will be the main spin option with Smiddy and Finch chipping in.

Boland and Paris are fresh faces while the batting lineup is pretty experienced.

Personally don't like the Smarsh inclusion but I suppose he's been in form.

Just chucked in a poll.

Kane Richardson? Really? No John Hastings. Surprising choices but this will be a good series.

Based on that 13 man squad, I'd personally leave out Smarsh (because I don't like the guy and reckon he's taking the place of somebody more deserving - Burns, Khawaja, Lynn etc) and Richardson (again, what the flower? Several other pace options have been better) which means the XI would be:

Finch, Warner, Smith (c), Maxwell, Bailey, Wade (wk), Faulkner, MMarsh, Boland, Hazlewood, Paris

Three seamers plus the two allrounders who also bowl pace and then Maxi (and maybe Finchy or Smiddy) to bowl out the spin overs.

A tad surprised they've opted to leave out a full time spinner. Clearly they have faith in Maxi's ability with the ball (cue the showerstorm from haters). Selectors clearly have a hard on for Smarsh so I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the XI and the undeserving Richo has played for the national side before and will probs somehow earn a game over the new boys Boland and Paris.

I'm starting to warm up to Maxwell amazingly... Ever since he made a fool of himself last BBL he's really looked to have made an effort with bat and ball. Better not come close to the test side though :P He can be really useful with the ball I think, would have him at 5 below Bailey though.

Agree with this. Maxwell is as good an ODI spinner as we have currently (except for maybe Lyon) and is an excellent fielder and much better batsmen than all our other spin options.

Richardson has been average in the BBL this season but was the second leading wicket taker in the Matador Cup so he has form in that form of the game. I've never been a SMarsh fan but his form this summer has been extremely good, especially in the short forms of the game (although I guess you could say the same for Lynn and Khawaja)

Interesting selections - We can all come up with arguments for and against certain players.

eg
Wade v Paine
Bailey v Kwaja
Marsh v Lynn
Richardson v Tremain (really like the look of this guy)/Hastings

One could argue for the inclusion of Lyon or Boyce as an extra bowling option.

Overall though selectors have done a fair job imo.

0/37 with six wides ayy. Got to bowl against Sharma and Dhoni at least which is pretty neat.

He's no Callum Sinclair tho ;)

Yes aussie bowlers looking very pedestrian  :(

So apparently we don't need a specialist spinner...

fanTCfool

mullet takes a catch... was that you Jukesy ;D

Gee our attack looks thin without a Starc or Pattinson. We could be in for a series thrashing.
