My concern is it's a bit of a dads army atm we have to look beyond Rodgers he is pushing 38 , Clarke has to be replaced maybe for good he is pushing 34 and really it is probably game over for him Watson same as Clarke with age if only he could deliver , Haddin is 36 or 37 think he has had a good run and would be better off going into the Ashes with a younger keeper so now is the time , our bowlers are no spring chickens either but we have 3 or 4 ready to go , this series is not as important as the Ashes to me and I think our batting line can't be left to Warner and  Smith we need to make these changes now not in the middle of the Ashes ?

Can we at least agree that Michael Clarke is a knob?  :P

Not a Knob, but I think his Test days are over. Too injury prone these days, plus he's an old fella now. Done a good job as Aussie skipper, when on the park :)

Don't think we should worry to much about our bowlers with Pattinson, Cummins and Co coming in.

20 years from now I'll be saying I was there at day 5. What a day.

Point taken but what I am saying if the blokes who are old and playing now batting wise were legends of the game all good but there not Rodgers , Watson ( such a disappointment ) Clarke is a batting great but his body is no longer up to it Haddin is past his best at his age keeping and batting , the time for change is this series not the Ashes , I know they won't change much this test hopefully this will all become visible at the Gabba and not in the Ashes

Stuart Clark and Symonds would have been over 30 at the time, Mitchell Johnson was 25 at the time although I don't think he featured in the games.

Mailman the 2nd

People like Harris and Johnson broke back into the team by removing young players from it.

In a much better transition state now than we were back then

There is no problems with our bowling although Harris 36 and Johnson 33 won't go on for ever especially Harris we have Cummins , Stark with test experience plus Hazelwood and a host of other bowlers like Boyce it's our batting that needs some attention ASAP the Gabba should highlight that next week because unless Rodgers , Watson Haddin and S. marsh if he gets a go turn around there form it might get very ugly

Agree The Indian quicks let by Sharma will be a different proposition on the Gabba deck. Seen a glimpse of what they can do on the docile Adelaide pitch to some batsmen.
