Carlton are keen on Liam Sumner and Lachie Plowman ... Don't really know much about them but hopefully they are good pick ups!

Pick 1 to GWS so they can get the KPD they really need.

Pick 8, Plowman, Sumner, Phillips to Carlton

Pick 8 to Essendon for Carlisle

Rumours going around that the dees have offered Danger 9-10 mil over 6 years

I stress the word 'rumour' - very unlikely imo and I don't think he's worth that much

I lost hope when Danger said he was hopeful Geelong and Adelaide would work something out  :-\
+1

He's not leaving for money and he is a free agent so he can turn down any possible offers.

However, I'm not saying he wouldn't consider it  :P

But I think he's made his reason for leaving the Crows quite apparent and I think he's guaranteed to go to Geelong after a trade has been sorted.

Like the idea, but I doubt anyone will trade pick 1 ever again

I know its a big statement, but I just don't think it will happen ever again.

It seems like today all the teams that are chasing the players have the power, as the players make the decision on where they want to go now. So nobody needs to offer pick 1 for a player.

I just think the probability is too high for everything to work perfectly enough for the 1st pick to be on the table. It might happen once in the next 50 years

I agree, but for an additional reason. Pick 1 is always the prototypical player for their position (besides last year where the Saints passed on the prototype to recruit McCartin for personnel needs). Even when they occasionally bust (every few years), teams are willing to take the punt on the quintessential player of a certain position over a regular player, or number of regular players.

Weitering & Schache could really achieve a lot in the long-term and their builds give them a significant advantage over the opposition.

While Plowman is quite a pick up (hasn't shown it, but you can say that about half of the GWS top tier talent). But I don't think Philips and Sumner are worth it.

Carlton may benefit from a trade like this in both the short and long term, but people seem to have unrealistic expectations for a no. 1 draft pick in the lead up to the draft.

If it could land them Carlisle in a side trade - I think they would be crazy to pass on it (in form, I really rate Carlisle as a defender - he'll never be a good forward though, could be an All Australian defender though)

Southstorm

For Carlton, that's a huge result. Four talented young players instead of one. Even if they got 3, that's still big.

No to seedsman or no to Howe? I keep telling people that Seedsman hasn't had an injury free Pre-season yet and has to keep coming into the season underdone, he will be a solid player!
