He's a great player there's no doubting that but the compensation isn't based on ability - 30 years old and only on a 3 year deal...will be interesting to see how the afl rules on this.

Higgins was offered a pretty ridic deal though, and is younger. Age will play a big part

IIRC, Matt White was offered a similar deal to go to Port (500k over 3 years). He's 3 years younger, yet the AFL gave Richmond pick 67 in return as compo.
