ICC Test team of the year:

1. David Warner (Australia)

2. Alastair Cook (England) (capt)

3. Kane Williamson (New Zealand)

4. Joe Root (England)

5. Adam Voges (Australia)

6. Jonny Bairstow (England) (wicketkeeper)

7. Ben Stokes (England)

8. Ravichandran Ashwin (India)

9. Rangana Herath (Sri Lanka)

10. Mitchell Starc (Australia)

11. Dale Steyn (South Africa)

12th man Steve Smith (Australia)

I reckon I'd have Smith over Voges just quietly. guess he doesn't bat at 5 though

ICC one day team of the year:

1. David Warner (Australia)

2. Quinton de Kock (South Africa) (wicketkeeper)

3. Rohit Sharma (India)

4. Virat Kohli (India) (capt)

5. AB de Villiers (South Africa)

6. Jos Buttler (England)

7. Mitchell Marsh (Australia)

8. Ravindra Jadeja (India)

9. Mitchell Starc (Australia)

10. Kagiso Rabada (South Africa)

11. Sunil Narine (West Indies)

12th man Imran Tahir (South Africa)

Warner averaged 35 this year (604 runs) while Voges averaged 38 (460 runs, half of which in one innings).

To have them over Azhar Ali (950 runs at 53) and Smith is disgusting - whoever picked that team must have watched about 10 minutes of cricket this year.

I heard it was based on Oct 15 - Sep 16, does that change those numbers?

Probably but I'd still hazard a guess that Smith and Ali >>> Voges and Warner. Did Voges hit double digits at all against a half-decent side?

Yes it's from Sept to Sept. So it has Voges big West Indies scores in there.

De Kock has had an awesome year too, averaged 65 and scored 600 runs for the year with a couple of tons (although has obviously scored about 900 less runs than Bairstow :P and has taken far less wickets behind the stumps) - most other years QDK would have it

My team would be Cook, Azhar Ali, Root, Kohli, Smith, Stokes, Bairstow, Ashwin, Herath, Starc, Woakes

oh shower I didn't realise de Kock had that good a year. feel a bit hard done by to have another keeper score that many runs haha

PowerBug

Adam Voges averaged 90 in the period that the team was selected in. Probably fair enough seeing him in the team.

Steyn played 4 tests in that time and took 14 wickets and made the team. Anderson played 12 and took 50, broad 14 and took 50. Woakes 8 and took 36. Obviously more to it than those numbers, but how does a guy with 4 tests in the year get in??
