And they've gone off for bad light... They're all my boys, Gary's just my favourite of the lot!


So I'll give the rundown here. Three teams can win the title, Middlesex, Somerset and Yorkshire. Middlesex are hosting Yorkshire at Lords, and Somerset are playing somewhere not that important...
Table heading into the round:
Middlesex 213
Yorkshire 204
Somerset 203

Batting and bowling points are awarded for runs and wickets in the first 110 overs of the first innings . So looking at Somerset's match, they made 365 runs (4 points) and took 10 wickets (3 points) which takes them to 210. Middlesex made 270 (2 points) so they are on 215. Yorkshire took 10 wickets (3 points) so 207.

It's 16 points for a win, and Somerset are in cruise control (Nottinghamshire require another 488 runs with 9 wickets remaining), so adding on their 16 points for winning the match, the table becomes:

Somerset 226
Middlesex 215
Yorkshire 207

So this means for Yorkshire to win the title, they need to secure 4 batting points (350 runs) and then win the match (3 points would see them tie and lose on the tiebreaker system). Middlesex just need to win the match. And Yorks are 349/9 as bad light stops play...

Oh, and need I mention that 2 teams relegate each season, and the bottom part of the table currently look like:
Lancashire 165
Warwickshire 160
Hampshire 153

Hampshire are playing at home and are winning, whilst Lancashire are playing Warwickshire so if Hamps win then the loser of the other game will relegate!
