Hugo Ralphsmith has returned to the Richmond side as it starts committing seriously to playing the kids, partially forced through injury and also at the right time in their list cycle. He has made his name as a flanker, but last week he was tried off a wing... with questionable results. He looked to have real trouble with positioning, giving his opponent way too much room and taking defensive side too early. 2024 is going to be a learning experience for a lot of Tiger cubs, and one presumes his line coaches had plenty of vision to package up for him to go over. A work in progress, like the team.

Not Hugo's time to go yet
A classic flying half forward flanker in the old mould, Hugo Ralphsmith fills the highlight reels with talented plays without contributing much in the way of frontal pressure or statistical accumulation. Ralphsmith plays in a decidedly un-Richmond way, which probably means he is going to have his game dismantled and reconstituted as another of Dimma's Scragging Sappers.
