Tyler Brockman has been given a run of senior games this season, his second after transferring from Hawthorn and following on from an unimpressive first. He hasn't been able to build a full fitness base in either of his preseasons at the Eagles, but fans are starting to question his job security compared to honest conveyances like Clay Hall toiling away in the WAFL. The answer: Brockman's skill level obviously surpasses the likes of Hall, so his performance ceiling is much greater even though he is showing much more of his floor in 2025. Such is footy life.

Tyler Brockman was brought over from Hawthorn in the off season after a promising couple of years in development, with a decent highlights reel but not much accumulation playing as a deep small forward. At the Eagles he has struggled with an interrupted preparation, but in recent weeks Adam Simpson has been giving him centre bounce attendances to see what he can do. The answer is that he can do a fair bit at stoppages, with a healthy clearance rate, but he is almost non-existent between contests on the outside. He is a work in progress, as Jarrad Schofield well knows.
