Given one senior game against Essendon filling in for injuries, Callum Coleman-Jones was part of a tandem that was well-beaten. He showed last season that he can post a string of 110+ fantasy scores when rucking solo at VFL level with healthy averages of 15 disposals and five marks. The problem for Coleman-Jones is that he is at a club where the coach seems to want to use every ruck in a tandem situation, so he's not going to get the chance to show how good he can be in the ones. He is contracted until 2021, though that doesn't mean as much these days if he gets cold feet.

CCJ needs 10cc of luck, stat
Often playing second fiddle to Ivan Soldo in the VFL last season, Callum Coleman-Jones had a handful of opportunities to ruck solo and posted a high of 35-hitouts. He booted 14 goals in 16 matches at a fantasy scoring rate of 62. Up to now the Tigers have not felt the need for a second ruck. Perhaps the tandem trend sweeping the league in the wake of last year's grand final will give Coleman-Jones a chance at the top level. He is unlikely to score heavily.
Don't be rushing for CCJ
Though a knee injury slowed him down and ended his last junior year early, Callum Coleman-Jones showed enough for Sturt and for SA at the Championships for the Tigers to take him early. Coleman-Jones will start in the reserves as almost all young ruckmen do, building fitness and learning how to deal with grown men as opponents.
