(Tune of the Richmond theme song)

Oh, we are from Mexico!
Where the sun burns bright and scorches all!,

And all the people say,
We will win every time,
Our legacy is prime,
And if we sense defeat then we will pounce and fight,

Oh we are from Mexico!
And we love our nachos and tacos!

We're slow and we're old,
Still full of gold,

We are from Mexi....
Green, White and Red,

We are from Mexico!!

JROO8 announced as head coach

Inaugural coach Maca24 has resigned, with former assistant coach JROO8 being elevated as head coach for the Mexico City Suns. JROO8 has big shoes to fill, with Maca24 achieving lots of success with the Suns, winning the Worlds Premiership in 2012 while finishing as runner up in 2013. JROO8 is looking to continue this period of success and has high hopes for the club heading into the 2014 season. When asked about his new role, JROO8 said "I'm ecstatic to be given this job, it's certainly a honour to coach such a big club and I'm looking to bringing the fans more success this year". JROO8 also revealed the club will name the best & fairest award in honour of Maca24, naming it the Maca medal, stating that "Maca has made a massive impact at this football club, turning it into the powerhouse it is today, so it's just a small way to honour him".

2014 Mexico City Suns season preview

Mexico City Suns, coached by JROO8.
Best XV
D: Bartel, Hodge, Adcock, Hurn
M: Goddard, Sidebottom, Ebert, Lewis
R: Maric
F: N.Riewoldt, Pavlich, Crameri, A.Goodes
U: Moloney, S.Thompson

Position last season: 2nd
Notable Inclusions: Pavlich, Yarran
Key Player: Brendon Goddard - With Mexico City not having many captain options, Goddard must have a big year, as he'll be used as captain a lot throughout the year.
Young Gun: Tom Curren - Mexico City are pleased with Curren's progress and he's looming as a breakout candidate. There's a good chance that he'll break his way into the club's best XV this year.

Prediction: a solid team, with plenty of guns, but they lack a star captain option and are one gun forward short. Nonetheless, you can't write off a champion team and they will still push for Premiership glory, as they should still finish in the top four, which will give them a good chance.
Verdict: 4th

Ok, the thread is open.
I'd like to say thank you to a few people, firstly to ossie for creating such a great competition, the time and effort he puts into it is unbelievable, thanks a lot.

Thanks to Maca for creating this team, without him this team wouldn't be where it is today.

Thanks to all the other coaches for also making it a great competition and thanks to the coaches he voted me in.

Thanks to Football Factory for taking up a role as an assistant coach here, he's been great so far.

Thanks to the other coaches who allowed me to use ideas from their team thread.

Thank you all :)
