"DASHING Sydney Swans defender Rhyce Shaw will miss the club's finals campaign after rupturing the ACL in his right knee against Geelong at Simonds Stadium on Saturday evening."

:(

Nige

Only just came back from injury a couple of weeks ago too iirc. Crap luck.  :(

Not the best DP to have when mentioning that bad news.

Sucks for Shaw and the Swans, but it now confirms my fears that we will be knocked out in straight sets in the finals losing to Hawks and Pies.

The only other thing you need to question is that if Shaw has done his ACL and needs a reco, is that it for his career??

I heard he was going for the LARS option, presumably aware that his career doesn't have time to spare for a full reco?

Capper

He turns 32 in October, so age is not on his side. Coming back from a knee it will be interesting to see if he still has his speed

Ricochet

So unlucky being so close to finals and having a real shot at the premiership.

WTF!!??

Go wash your mouth out!!

Hawks maybe, but pies no way!

For starters, Tigers more likely to finish 5th.

I know, i know. I will shut up now
But we cant score enough points against the better teams. 70 v Freo, 54 v Port, 71 v Pies, 48 v Cats

Pies play North and Tigers play Carlton. I think Pies can make up the percentage to leapfrog the Tigers as the Blues will come out fiiring after scoring 22 behinds and losing to the Bombers

doubt it, hawks struggled to even get the win against us and we took out gellong.

if dons get their points taken away a win could mean finals for the roos.

lol tabs!  ;)

Shaw was just coming good too and giving some run off half-back - sorely missing that at the moment with Jetta out and not in form when he was this year ...

i don't think the form lines are quite reflective of where the finals series will be at ...

Geelong smashed us even if it was at Simonds so that's a worry - but always a chance against Hawks.
Collingwood out-Sydney-ed us that last match-up so will be interesting ...  :o    ;)

Tigers play Essendon, not Carlton  ;) Pies would have to win by about 10 goals more than the Tigers do to leapfrog them on percentage, can't see that happening. Bombers beating the Tigers on the otherhand........

Anyway back on topic, I was surprised that Shaw was 32. Hope he makes it back as it's always disappointing for a player to have to retire because of injury.
