yeah was a bit of a let down last week with his poor SC score! rather coniglio? or go even cheaper and try and get tom lynch (crows) in for porpoise or maybe try and squeeze pendles in for swan?

Jay

Which combo? Cox & Porps or Mummy & Lynch

Ok at first look i bet you'll all say cox/porps...but let me explain! Cox cant get better, and with nic nat gradually getting more ruck time and cox has been played up forward which will limit his scoring! Mummy on the other hand can improve and I believe will average 115+...porps is the common F6/7 option but he will be playing key foward, resulting in inconsistent scores and his shoulders are a worry too. Lynch will play a sort of high-half forward role and has no injury troubles and he has a higher points per time on ground during nab!

And by the way my team is
8.7k
Goddard shaw deledio broughton malceski ellis darley <bugg morris>
Ablett swan selwood caddy ledger shiel <kennedy magner>
Cox redden<giles o-steph>
Franklin goodes fyfe martin dangerfield porplyzia d.smith<pfeiffer dickson>

I'm going Mummy not for the same reasons, but that he should dominate 1st 1/2 of the season based on the draw. In that time the 3 rookies should fatten up more than adequately to pick up the No1 Ruck for the Year. So even if it is still Cox, you aren't going to pay any more than you would starting Cox and bringing in a more expensive Mummy.

Personally don't know alot about Lynch, but if your gut says this unique is worth the punt, then that could be the difference b/w you and the masses.

Food for thought thou, Porps has an easier run than most , potencially allowing larger scores in that key forward role. So at his price, having a rolecoaster b/w weaker and tougher opposition, it shouldn't deter people from taking that punt on him.

Great team either way.

Jay

thanks mate, top post! You have a team you want me to take a look at?

Ringo

The only concern I have with Mummy when going with the 1/3 Ruck structure is his history of suspensions and injuries which is ok if you have another prem but relying then on 2 rookies to score big for any period is a risk. He misses 4/5 games per year and would hate to see this at start of year before rookies fatten up. He is a little inconsistent with 10 scores below 100 including 3 below 70. Averages 47.6 hit outs per game which aids SC scoring. Admitedly he has a reasonable draw which may result in big scores but need to wigh up against possible games missed.
Cox is extremely durable and has only missed 9 games since the start of the 2008 season.  Can not see Cox's average falling much even with Nats increased time on Ground. Cox is very consistent with only 6 scores below 100 and only 2 below 70.

Have looked at Lynch myself but eventually went with Porps due to draw and the form he showed in NAB cup final. Either choice is sound.

Trust this helps a little.

Thanks for the advice! Ive taken it on board and come up with a new team...

Backs: Not sold on Guthrie maybe look at Clarke or Bower instead. Aprt from that its quite a awesome line-up
Mids: Solid
Rucks: Fine
Forwards: I would personally pick Hall over Dickson. Although Dickson has more JS Hall has a higher ceiling and with a team with no risky picks (Apart from Guthrie) why wouldn't you risk him

Overall: 9.5/10

Great Work Jayman!
