I like version 1, really good time to jump on JHF, I'm considering next week.

Mat0369

I feel like it's the best version on paper as well. Gets a crap score off field from Lynch/Warner/Stone and gives me a keeper. A productive use of my trades for once

Good: Bice, Trainor, Holmes, W. Ashcroft, L. Ashcroft, TDK, JHF, Smith, Daniel, SPP
Pass: Sheezel, Bowey, O'Sullivan
Bad: Zorko, Roberts, Prior, Neale, Trac, Oliver, Knevitt, Hall, Xerri, Macrae, Lindsay
Ugly: Ryan, Moraes, Stone, Dudley

What an awful week, I have a few major problems and I don't know if I try and fix them or just ride them out. The two obvious issues are Ryan and Neale. Ryan compounded the issue by being subbed off in the 3rd quarter.

Xerri has been a disaster since I traded him in, I was better off sticking with Meek but I panicked after his 2 early great scores and bit the bullet.

Dudley was a bit of a flop since he was the sub. My gut said he would be, but to get JHF using the 3 'rookies' I had to make that move. Lynch ended up getting subbed anyway so it was a solid trade in the end.

I'm going to have a look at BE's before I look at trades, but Luke Ryan is one I think I have to move out. Gross and Cleary are the two standout rookies this round as well. I am thinking I use my 2nd last boost to get it done

Colliwobblers

Well, that's three in a row for Trainor so he's fairly safe to field. I'm looking to get on Ryan at some point, didn't realize he was subbed, he might be carrying something?

Hopefully there is an injury and at least then the decision is taken out of your hands. Xerri is definitely carrying an injury.

Probably Ryan to Nick with a rookie downgrade.

Lindasy 64, Davidson 60, Knevitt 43, the highest BE's you have

Mat0369

I'm just glad to be getting the Trainor cash gen, even if I haven't had him on the field through any of these scores haha.

So I have a bad history owning both Ryan and Neale. I traded Ryan into my team in 2021 after he was averaging 106 for him to average 87. I then started him in 2022 and he averaged a whopping 89. He averaged 100 the rest of the way and 115 over the last 8 including the two finals. He was then a beast in 2023 and 2024 and awful again now that I own him.

Last time I remember owning Neale was 2021 when he also had a problem with the tag and averaged 99.8 for the season. He averaged 122.8, 110.4 and 119.9 the next three seasons before averaging 93 this year.

You want a reliable player broken, just get me to own them.

Good: Roberts, Bowey, Bice, Neale, L. Ashcroft, Lalor, Xerri, SPP, Davidson
Pass: Trac, JHF, Macrae, Daniel
Bad: Sheezel, Holmes, Oliver, TDK (C),  Smith, Lindsay
Ugly: Zorko, Ryan, Trainor, O'Sullivan, W. Ashcroft, Moraes, Knevitt, Gross, Cleary, Dudley

A crap week compounded by bad trades saw me drop in the rankings. I should have held Prior and not bothered with either of the rookies after what they scored. It's weird how someone can look like a can't miss prospect and then they get hit with a vest or just disappear entirely. These rookies are driving me a little bit nuts and I am just going in circles with no cash gen. I also 100% should have done the Ryan to Butters trade but held off thinking Ryan would 'come good'.

Trades for this week

Trainor > Carroll is on the cards. I am also thinking one of Knevitt/Moraes > Flynn as my flex. I could also do both Knevitt and Moraes and hold Trainor since he seems to be scoring well and it was a vest decision that killed him.

I could also use my second last boost and finally give Ryan the flick to bring in one of Butters/Bont which is also tempting.

I keep looking at my team with a severe lack of cash gen and I'm thinking how in the hell am I going to 1. complete this team and 2. get guys like Butters/Bont/Whitfield in down the track. After using another two trades I have 25 left and my team doesn't look any better. Of my players this is how I'd rank them on current form

Keepers

Sheezel (barely)
Zorko (barely)
Neale (barely)
Holmes
TDK
Xerri
JHF
Trac
Smith
Macrae
Daniel

Not quite premiums

Ashcroft
Roberts
Bowey
Ryan
Oliver

So out of 23 spots I have 11 keepers, 5 not quite keepers and 7 spots to fill.

So Knevitt is out and I originally planned on trading Moraes with his 46 BE this week. I'm wondering if it's worth switching him to Knevitt to give myslef some bench coverage? It doesn't help that Gross and Hall are also out

Absolutely, keep anyone who is a warm body. Big cleanout required next week, Moraes is also named onfield so job security looks solid for the time being.

Mat0369

Seemed like the no brainer and this is the second time Knevitt has been a post teams out with an injury

It was a decent week, but it feels like a decent week doesn't really get me much higher up in the rankings. I have a little bit of cash in the bank to target an upgrade or two. Davidson and Lalor look like the two potential options. I was playing around with something like Warner and Callaghan
