List size will stay at 42 so if you wanted to part in a mid season draft you would have to de-list.

Do not see it effecting rookie draft too much as an additional 48 players would be going into the pool.

But as I said floating radical ideas but happy to see them burst if consensus.

Well, I don't think the 48 extra players would be worth it as such :P

I guess the one benefit would be that, with a list size of 42, less players are getting drafted, and so there's a greater chance of decent rookies popping up out of nowhere and able to be drafted.

But then, I'd imagine you can't trade your mid-season draft picks (at this stage at least). So, with or without this idea, the same players are likely to be drafted in the same order, with the exception of a few AFL rookie drafted players. But now the value of the high end rookie draft picks drops dramatically, so it has an impact on the ability for the bottom teams to use them as trade bait.

But I think 42 is too low of a list size number. If we dropped it to 44 then that still gives an extra 18 players which is quite substantial, and doesn't have a massive impact on teams or the draft for this year. Anything below that is probably too much, especially when we have a 16 team comp. There's plenty of leftover players already (90+ I believe), which, even though they're mostly spuds, is quite a lot. Not too keen on increasing that to 150 haha.

Massive no from me. I am happy with the way BXV comp is truth be told.

I also don't think this rule should be looked at for this year. I am trying to be as fair as possible here as coach of the Giants and the obvious benefits it would become for us if it actually was to come in.

But the reality of the situation is Grope Lane's list is not in need of a priority pick imo. We are a lot more advanced than other teams who would benefit more from it. I also think many coaches have planned trades etc for picks already as per the current set of rules.

Any rule change that has been voted in should never come in for that season otherwise it hurts fairness for all clubs.

Just my 2 cents worth.
I'm in agreeance with this. Whatever we decide has to be for next year moving forward.
