Welcome to the start of the 2016 / 2017 relocated Panthers.

Team History:

2016 Grand Final: Lost

Boston Terriers 21.13.139 defeated Carolina Panthers 16.16.112
(Real: 2086 vs 1677)

Best
Boston: Pendlebury, Neale, Ross, Gray, Howe, Dal Santo, Robinson
Carolina: Boyd, Docherty, Bontempelli, Patton

What's the main story here - Boston smashed it or Carolina were disappointing? Or that Boston finally shook their hoodoo and break their two-year streak of losing grand finals (possibly due to not playing San Francisco?). Boston's midfield brigade certainly did win them the match, contributing 946 points to their tilt (including captaincy bonus), and they got the job done despite underwhelming performances by key players such as Laird, Dahlhaus, and Watts (so nobody can say they got lucky with Neale and Pendlebury). Carolina have impressed all season but the pressure of the big day got to them, with only 590 points contributed by their starting midfield (including captain). Two bright spots for the Panthers? Young key forward Jon Patton was a shining light, as was their ability to pick a decent sub (Hunt, 75) which has hurt their scores in recent weeks. But mostly poor efforts from their midfield, forward line, and utilities was a big nail in the coffin - although one would think even with a fully firing side they would have struggled to get the win. Boston are finally champions, and Scott Pendlebury goes back-to-back as the Grand Final MVP - on a happier occasion this season.

2017 Grand Final: Premiers

Carolina Panthers 19.7.121 defeated Boston Terriers 17.10.112
(Real: 1817 vs 1684)

Wasn't really all that close in the end as the Panthers storm home to become our fourth champions, adding 484 points to 296 today to win semi-comfortably - and, as I predicted, the captain battle was huge - Dusty scored 130, while Cotchin could only manage 64 (less than half) to really dictate the way this game went. Boston probably can't use injuries as an excuse either, as Selwood+Pendlebury+Neale PROBABLY wouldn't have made up the 133 point difference. Nice redemption for Carolina too, having been beaten handily 139 to 112 in last year's grand final and they'll be going into next season as favourites as well you'd imagine - could Kelly, Bont, Docherty and Dusty get even better? While Boston will say goodbye to retiring players Riewoldt, Murphy, Kelly, and Priddis (who at least went out with a nice score). Josh Kelly and Sam Docherty split BOG honours with their 133s.

Best
Carolina: Kelly, Docherty, Martin, Menegola, Ward, Kennedy
Boston: Priddis, Laird

2018: Finished 8th position.

2019: Finished 7th position.
