can anyone explain what MPP means? i know i may look silly but im new to the game and dont fully understand it. :-\

ELLsendon

Main Position Player

toodledock

Malignant Proficient Player

MPP=For certain players with injury concerns their average will be awarded to you even if they are injured. This is why Drummond is a great pick as he will play 3 games avg 100, miss 15 games or so and for all those games he misses you will still get his 100 points.

lol... im getting completely contrasting answers

CFC 1979

it's multiple position player

basically you have players that are multi-position
example - goddard defense / mid
he can be swapped between backline + midfield with another player.
the only thing to remember is the player he is to swap with must be a MMP in the same position
example - hodge + goddard both defense / mid
these two can be swapped
it supposed to help prevent trades through injury
example - hodge injured for 3 weeks. you have no cover for hodge. you swap him with goddard onto that line then put hodge on bench in say the mids

thats the basic crash course

CFC 1979

by the way - very funny fellas :D

Of course, now you'll need o know about mmps. They are similar to mpps, but have the added advantage of having their average awarded to you even if they are injured.

Of course, that's different to the Main Position Player, who is like a KPP, except that if their name is Goddard, they can be swapped between backline + midfield with anyone who is called Hodge.

The true meaning is Mixed Member Proportional. ie: mid/back fwd/mid /ruck/fwd and so on

its MMP not MPP

An afl came across many years ago...he is right though it is now call MPP ..was MMP

History to that might be interesting. Some folk are suggesting that mpp is introduced to prepare for 17 teams. Could help to know more about how they intend that to work (and might enable us to exploit it more this year, if its really about preparing for next year).

MissPies

yeah diff terminology meaning the exact same thing

Prospector_1

But Mixed Member Proportional has very different connotations?

Sounds like Tassies electoral system!
