what makes you think his js isnt good? he is mature aged and one of the best performed in the preseason.

from memory melbourne have the most spots open on their list atm out of any team due to various injuries etc. got to remember not only jurrah but also sylvia is out for a while.

I wouldn't say one of the BEST performed. And he really is just an average player and Melbourne have a lot of his type already - Trengove, Moloney, Bail, Magner. Sylvia being out will help him though.

But, upgrading a rookie costs money and Melbourne wouldn't announce this now unless they were intent on playing him early (a LTI rookie upgrade can be announced whenever). So he'll probably play Round 1... it's just he'll be fighting to stay there each week.
