New thread so the list is easy to access for HP, good idea KB.
- Child board for each XV comp in Archives Section DONE
- Match Day becomes its own board and fantasy news is scrapped or given Childboard DONE
- Childboard for team threads in each XV. (Pending comp admin approval.) DONE
- In SC and AF Fantasy P&T boards, child board for fantasy profiles. DONE
- Get Football Factory his account back, currently Dribble Kick. DONE
- PM limit for recipients should be raised from 10 to 17.
Tell me other suggestions and I'll add them in. Obviously they will take time to get done but just making a list for HP so its easier like he asked. :)
Why do we need child boards for team threads in XV's?

It was suggested so I put it on the list. :)
It is a fair suggestion as team Threads and updates clog up the threads. By putting team Threads in separate boards they are easily located for people wanting to check
Vinny can you add the email system to the list please
HP can't do anything about the email system, that's up to me. It's on the list for the offseason.
Thanks for the update on that m0nty.
That and copy paste issues doubt I can anything on :-X.
Will get to stuff once I see to like my assessments and stuff for uni as got to crack out a 2,000 word essay tonight.
This was talked about a while back, but nothing came of it. Child boards for the lower leagues (NEAFL, VFL, SANFL, WAFL. Think that's it).

If there's enough chat about these leagues to merit their own boards, that's a good idea.
I'll probably just make a child board for AFL section for "Other Leagues" eventually, as probably wouldn't get enough interest alone to have a board for each one.

Yeah, I think maybe a 'State Leagues' child board would be nice. Often getting updates guys like Ringo on the NEAFL, tbag on the SANFL and I know myself and a number of others have interest in the VFL, so that would be great. Then we could just start threads for each league within the board.

Just a note though my notes on NEAFL relate to Lions involvement and is posted in L:ions Board similar to those who do Swans Write ups. If I have time may extend to other Teams but with the NEAFL across 2 states and the NT is a little difficult to collate all info.
While you're at it adding the state league board HP you should change Western Sydney to GWS. And also put the state league board at the end, I don't like it ahead of Adelaide :P

Yes to this
Also, might be an idea for somebody who knows a lot about each state league to start a general discussion thread
WAFL General Discussion Thread
VFL General Discussion Thread
etc...
I dont even know what Mr Football is, but considering there hasnt been a post made in over 6 months is that worth getting scrapped as well? Or at least made a child board of another section?

Yep, that was the plan as each don't have enough talk to have their own board, but certainly threads for each one the way to go! That and if anybody follows a team strongly, they can make a thread on them :P.
Congrats to HP on the promotion.
Not sure if you can control this, but the 20PM limit an hour is really annoying (especially when you have multiple XV teams).
I was thinking maybe coaches (1,00 posts or more) don't have this limit applied to them?
I actually can control the PM limits. Right now the only people with unlimited PMs are Moderators.
Think there's a cap kept because of potential users spamming others, so this would limit the amount they can send out. Can be a bugger for the people with multiple XV teams, but there are always other ways to discuss trade (e.g. Chat and other social media places, emails). Just don't think we should change it just yet, as doubt many non-XV coaches/assistants crack the 20 per hour often.
I've only cracked it once or twice really!

This is a good idea. It can get annoying having to send multiple messages out so that you can contact everyone in your league. It would be a lot easier to message everyone at once.
Yeah, was looking around for that previously to raise it up for Admins of the XV systems, but have been unable to find that function at the moment :(.
Another suggestion or enquiry is whether it's possible for people to be able to have powers to edit the threads of XVs teams they co-coach (for example ML - MajorLazer has made our Cairo thread but if I could update the OP and stuff as co-coach that would be good).

That would be difficult I would imagine as it would require a rule for only certain threads to have that feature, which I cant see being possible here
Would be handy though!

The main reason for it is to prevent spam. Maybe ask HP to change it for the off-season when trading, but during the year at least I think 20 is fine.
Have there really been any examples of spamming though? One over zealous user was contacting a lot of people for team advice but that's the closest I think it's ever got.

Yeah I think the limitations put in place simply due to the possibility of spamming are a bit over the top
Users who reach Coach status shouldn't really have these sort of limitations as they are proven, real contributors

you know how if you click on a thread from the main forum index it takes you to the last post you read in the thread
is it possible to go to the last post you read in a thread when it's not the latest post in the main forum index so i mean when you need to go into the child forum then click on the thread itself
make any sense?
I know what you mean KB, but not sure how I'd do it (with my limited knowledge atm). Would require storing data for each thread you read so not sure if possible.
But it sometimes happens on my phone (go to the post I last read when I click on a thread), so it might be.

What's the difference? The first new post would be the post after the last one you read, which I believe is what the "new" button takes you to? I rarely use it though so not 100% sure on that
The difference is let's say there is a couple new pages since last time you read the thread it takes you to the last post you read
Which might be on like pages 2 of a 4 page thread
And it's obviously hard to remember where you last read on each thread so I use the feature often but only seems to if clicking on the thread from the forum index

The difference is let's say there is a couple new pages since last time you read the thread it takes you to the last post you read
Which might be on like pages 2 of a 4 page thread
And it's obviously hard to remember where you last read on each thread so I use the feature often but only seems to if clicking on the thread from the forum index
it is a great suggestion, but something I cant ever see you using considering the amount of time you spend online, the chance of two people responding before you go back must be nil!! :P
Happens when I go to sleep lol
Clicking on the NEW button for me does the exact same thing as going straight to a thread from the forum index.
From the main forum index you can't even click the new button

Oh, are you saying to have a similar function on this page?

He's saying that accessing a thread from the main forum index has the same effect as clicking the blue 'new' button next to a thread in an actual section (e.g. Players & Trades in SC). It goes immediately to the last viewed (by you) post, not the most recent post.
When I go to the Forum Threads which have new replies in the child boards are highlighted and i just go in there click new and takes me to the last post I have read. As an example went into the World Xv trade discussion thread and took to the last post I had read and there were some 3 pages after it.
Where there are no child boards eg the new Match Day thread just click on the topic and the threads come up with new which I then click on the new so similar to above.
Also if you click on the new replies section to something you have posted you will see all posts after you posted.
So not sure what the real issue here is as i use the new function in both and I go to last post read. And just had a look again and some topics i have not read even though 12 months are still there with new. Just cliked on one and it took me back to 2012.
I give up trying to explain it doing my head in
The last few pages of this thread is giving me a headache lol
I've had a headache past few days :(. Probably unrelated to FF business :P.
Wouldn't it be OK if HP could just hold the ground instead of letting everything slip like m0nty has?
Hold what you can first, HP, go further later ...
Yeah, after the first day or two, taken a step back from using many powers or exploring :P. Got some stuff to deal with that takes priority but not gonna let FF fall too far as still here almost everyday :D.
Nice Plan HP - You have done a lot early so now is time to prioritise yourself. Do not allow FF to cause your other priorities to slip.
Is there an 'Unsubscribe' button that could be added to threads you don't wish to be notified about any more? :)
you just click notify again
but we don't get emails anyway
That stops you from having the threads appear in the 'New replies' section kb?
i don't use "New Replies" i just use the main forum index so i dunno
thought you meant email notifications
Oh right, no I don't use email notifications just talking about the 'new replies' function ;)
Not sure if something like this is possible, worth asking though

Yeah that'd be cool. I mean we could go and delete every post we've made in that thread, then it'll go away. I did that with Word Association, so somewhere in that thread is a gap haha

Profile -> Profile Info -> Show Posts -> Topics
And it was right there, all I had to do was go back and delete it. :) I don't know why it doesn't show all the topic I've posted in though, shows all the non-fantasy topics though, but then some of the fantasy ones. I think that function isn't correct either, or I'm interpreting it's use wrong.
so can HP do the team picker or only m0nty can?
not expecting it anytime soon just curious
I am only admin for the forum, not the actual site :P.
This falls under the category, can you do this, otherwise I think it would be a good tool?
I want to search my message inbox? right now I want to see all the messages from a certain person and I can do that by sorting, but what is that person was not the sender, just a receipient as well?
Alternatively, mainly for XV if I wanted to go back and see all the discussions over Player X from coaches I would like to search my inbox for a player name?

Can't you just go Actions --> Search Messages man?
Then put in the coaches name and the players name. They should all come up

no worries mate :)
Spent last hour or so looking around and see how to change the PM settings but can't find out where to go for them still :-X. So nothing can be done for them for now.
Sup HP?
Notice the time is an hour off again due to daylight savings. Happy to change it myself in my profile, but thought it would be better as a site wide thing.
Nah leave it as is - it is right with my clock now. ;)
