The match to kick off Women's round for the AFL.
Eagles have some big outs in Hurn and Selwood, so hopefully Bombers can get over them 8).
go Bombers
tough one to tip.. probably tip Eagles cos it's over there but wouldn't be surprised if Dons got up
Wondering how much the Weagles will miss Scooter and Hurn...
Dons should get up, simply a superior side to the Eagles.
the more i think about it, the more i think the Dons will get up. bugger it, i'm tipping Essendon

I am the most staunch WCE supporter but I think the Dons will kill us (and I have money on it haha).
Tipped the Weagles, what of it? ;D
Smart money is on the Dons.
Wouldn't be surprised if they pull a Tigers like score-line out here.

Yes, this year they appear to be a superior side to a lot of teams.
Ben Johnson, Marion Jones, and Lance Armstrong were all superior athletes, and all three were initially staunch in their denial of any wrong doing.
I hope Australian Rules Football doesn't become tainted like many other sports have.

I know what you mean. I think he's finally getting more attention from opposition teams though.
Hibberd turned it up that quarter. This is a quite a good contest.
Now it's Hepp and Goddard's turn to suck.
Think I'll finally have to cave in and get the seagull next week.
wce crowd is being disgustingly unsportsmanlike >:(

whats new, west australians - especially west coast eagles supporters are the most disgraceful supporters in the world, bad sports, all they do is boo and act like complete scumbags every week without fail.
this is just the worst of the worst taking their worst to a new level.
i am sure that is a generalization but in general every one of them in the crowd booing is a disgrace.
the only time it is worth watching a eagles game at home and suffering all the disgusting booing is in the hope you can witness them lose.

just rolled his ankle, at least the eagles fans didn't boo him off the ground like they did the last injured opposition player that was injured.....
just another example of the fine upstanding humans they aren't
Yeah Crameri looks he should be OK after seeing that second replay.
Here I was thinking Freo fans were worse than the Eagles...?

doesn't seem that way to me always worse when the eagles play. but hey they are all west australians so maybe all tarred with the same brush.
I hate to bag anyone especially with west australians on this forum i respect, but i HATE THAT CROWD and it not just me that notices and dislikes the way they behave pretty common knowledge amongst all commentators of the game.

Have shown they can win in many ways, which is good going forward.
Even though I am a West Australian, I hoped Essendon would win for Jobe. Crowd was appauling. No need for that kind of nonsense.
Yeah shocking stuff from the crowd, no place for that in footy :-\
I only wanted the Eagles to win because I tipped them assuming most in my competition would tip the Bombers... My attempt to get one up on the others failed and now I'm gonna fall further behind...
But yeah, poor form by the Eagles supporters, that's not on, horrible stuff.

Yes, some of our supporters are flowering feral.
Emphasis on the some Colli. We aren't all like them.
I was disgusted hearing our own fans jeer a man who is a freak footballer, ripper bloke but most of all INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
Seriously Colli, its a minority and as the game progressed more a more White Goodmans joined in. I agree its wrong that it went down but maybe harbour your hate for WA. Without our mining royalties the Eastern states would be screwed ;)
I can see the frustration there ele, It reminds me of when I hear girls say "all guys a immature jerks" and I'm just sitting here like wtf did I do, lol, anyway, can't believe some eagles fans booed Jobe especially after the Ben Cousins saga. Well done to Jobe, didn't give the crowd anything and played a ripper game. Loved the emotion on the field! What a game! I thought Jake Melksham did some very encouraging things tonight. I also enjoyed Winderlich's game, looks a real threat upfront in patches. And of course Jake Carlisle, amazing again. Oh and Paddy Ryder arguably beat the west coast big men.

Hmm so interesting comment from Damien Barrett today in his sliding doors...
QuoteIF Essendon fans keep taking the moral high ground view over Jobe Watson being booed at Subiaco, THEN they seriously need to get off that high horse. Brent Stanton has never forgotten being booed by his own supporters. Pathetic.

Not saying it was right that WCE supporters booed Jobe last night, I think it was very poor, but the Brent Stanton situation a couple of years ago (reminder (http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/matthew-lloyd-says-essendon-fans-hit-new-low-jeering-concussed-brent-stanton/story-e6frf9jf-1226052566903)) was pretty similar...

Exactly, every side has had their moments jeering a player. I reiterate though, I felt last night was extremely poor from our supporters.
Honestly, the Ben Cousins and Jobe Watson sagas are really an odd comparison.
Ben Cousins 'allegedly' took recreational drugs and was later deemed an addict. The drugs were never taken more than a week out from a game (he would get on them directly after the game the previous week) and were not performance enhancing thus not giving himself and/or his team an unfair advantage. If anything, getting on the gear would hamper an elite athlete.. Cousins was never proven guilty of having drugs in his system but was banned for 12 months on suspicion. No drug tests actually found drugs in his system but he did openly admit to being an addict.
Now Jobe admitted to taking a performace enhancing substance that is illegal, although, he is claiming he was unaware of the ramifications. There is absolutely no doubt what he was taking was/is illegal but it is now just a matter of the extent of his ban (feel terrible for the bloke and will be shattered if he loses his brownlow).
The point I'm trying to make is comparing the two situations is pretty sketchy due to the nature of the drug use and also the evidence surrounding them.
I was at the game my son and myself didn't like the fact they were booing Watson and the supporters around us weren't booing in fact there were that many comments telling these other idiots to shut up and stop doing it.
The Bombers supporters also need to step back and take a look at themselves. We went to the Bombers v Lions game whilst in Melbourne which was the game that resulted in Merrett and Clarke being suspended. After both incidents throughout the rest of the game Bombers supporters around us were yelling out things to both players and some of it wasn't very nice for the many children sitting in the area and every time Merrett or Clarke had the ball they were booed.
There is no difference between the two situations as none of the parties had been found guilty of anything at the time.
Yeah and right here.
http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-06-28/its-a-fans-right-to-boo
Freedom of speech anyone?
We don't actually have freedom of speech in our constitution, and booing isn't really speaking.
I don't think it's something to be cracked down on- what it does though is reflect poor characters of a supporter base. I'd probably only boo a player if they did something really disgustingly dog on the field at the game I was act.
yes, let's boo watson because he's the only one at essendon with the gonads to man up and say that he thinks they may have taken performance enhancing drugs, which at the time he didn't know about.
let's boo him for being the only person with a reasonable conscience at the entire club.
CFC hit it on the head

as for watson being innocent until proven guilty... he's admitted his 'guilt' in taking the drug, the only question now is whether it was illegal or not at the time.

He's admitted to taking the AOD
but thats not an admittance of guilt.
It's only an admittance of guilt
if he was
proven to take the drugs when they were illegal. The jury is still out.
And as for your comment about our constitution, as a democratic state, a key feature of this political system is power to the people/freedom of speech.

but we don't
so technically we don't have the right to free speech. :P

This is true. All we have is an implied right to political communication. Pretty boring compared to freedom of speech.
@ ELE and LF
I did say i was "generalizing" but i think it was fair to say it was a large portion of the crowd, still we will see if the eagles fans are the only ones when this all gets closer to coming to a head, may not be alone in booing bombers.
i didn't like it but as i always try to make clear on here, i am only one voice. one opinion.
Pies (me) but not me personnaly have had issues with fans and racism, there is issues and shameful moments in lots of clubs supporter bases over history.
I just " IN GENERAL" don't like the boooooooing of the eagles crowd !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I admire how they all clap a good play / kick, and their support is second to none for their team, I'd just like to hear more clapping and cheering and less booooooooooooing. ;)
but if you want to make a team feel like it's on the other side of the country in hostile territory maybe that boooooooing is part of what needs to happen to create that atmosphere.
so maybe i should respect the eagles fans / crowd even more for the part they play in the HGA for their team....
but i still dont like the boo :) it gets to me like the DUCKING.
AS FOR THE DUCKING - I HAVE NOTICED THERE HAS BEEN NONE - ZERO - ZIP OF IT FOR A FEW WEEKS IN WA :o
Credit where credit is due, I may have missed one but I have seen no ducking or playing for free kicks from the eagles for weeks.
And I do like how when Shuey has gone low and not got the free he just pushes through the tackle back into or out of the contest and plays on with no sooking or reminstration.
so as a regular basher of the eagles :) for what one opinion is worth mine for the team and players is improving rapidly ;)
also liked how the players of the eagles seemed to give a shower about watson after the game too, just a look and a nod or a pat on the shoulder seemed to say a lot so credit there also to the players.
you do the crime you do the time and reap what you sow, but that said you still should respect people who mistakes aside are worthy of that respect.
