Hey I worked out that Bert Lee, http://www.fromthepavilion.org/player.htm?playerId=518726 , my no1 20.y.o keeper, has a Spare Rating of 4,595. What does this figure mean again? What do I do about it?

It means that you can expect him to pop in something fairly soon, the higher the spare ratings, the more chance of a pop

So is a spare rating of 4,595 high then? Or are you expecting a pop soon with a spare rating of 10k or so?

the highest spare rating a player can get is 6,993 (999 spare in each skill) and anything over about 4k is considered good in that you should get a pop soon (unless all the SR are stacked on skills you aren't training, which means they'll pop quick when you train them anyway)

When i find spare ratings of 4k-5k, i usually just waste 2-3 weeks and get them to pop in the things that may be useless, but boohoo.

I dont get it. Are you saying that thanks to the Spare Rating, you see that he should Pop soon in something, therefore you train him in a skill you prob wont need, just because it will pop soon anyway? But why not get him to pop in the thing you want, sooner?

Take Dorenagama for instance, over 4.5k spare ratings. When he pops in tech i'll put him on strength and he should pop soon. then to fitness, fielding then back to bowling. :)

In short, spare ratings means someone is close to getting a pop. And when they do, you'll be very very happy :) :D ;D

He doesn't, he is guessing, he could have to wait ages for the pop :P

Right, so really he is just saying that because it recently popped, it wont pop again for a while.

That skill won't pop for a while. But when a player has over 4k spare ratings, they are usually close to popping in another skill, which is good :)

Why are you training your older players in primaries for pb?
