Lachy Dovaston has been drafted onto the North Melbourne list at an interesting time in the club's list development. The Kangaroos have arguably one of the best forward pockets in the league in Paul Curtis, and a small forward who can throw his weight about in packs and take contested grabs in Cameron Zurhaar. What they don't have yet is one of those high half forwards that all good teams have groomed, and perhaps this is Dovaston's ultimate goal in player development. For the moment he lacks the tank to do that role justice in year one, but he's a fantasy watch.
