Nakia Cockatoo is one of Geelong's most exciting young prospects. Unfortunately, he's also one of the most injury-prone. Hand and knee problems sidelined Cockatoo for the bulk of 2018 before 2019 became a write-off due to a round 3 PCL injury and hamstring tightness. The explosive midfielder will be attempting to put together a full preseason en route to a starting 22 role. Even if that is the case and he can leave his injury woes behind, Cockatoo is yet to show us that he's any more than a fringe X-factor midfielder. Pass.
Cocky needs a cracker

Rolls Royce? Nah, Kia.
Injuries sidelined Nakia Cockatoo for the majority of 2018, with PCL knee surgery mid-season cutting his campaign short. This means that the explosive midfielder has now undergone back to back knee procedures, along with having his tonsils removed, delaying his preseason significantly. Over his four year at Kardinia Park, the NT Thunder recruit has delivered scores hovering around 50 to 60. The Geelong coaching staff are taking a conservative approach with Cockatoo considering his injury history, so he is unlikely to feature in the early stages of the season. While a fit Cockatoo will push hard for a regular starting spot in Geelong’s midfield rotations, fantasy coaches are yet to see anything to be motivated by. As an impact player, Cockatoo is exciting to watch, but that doesn’t translate into fantasy potential. Pass.
Don't get Cocky
Hamstring injuries that put him out for five then six weeks ruined the second half of Nakia Cockatoo's third season. In 33 career games, he has never broken 15 disposals in a game playing almost exclusively on a HFF. Cockatoo is too much of a handball receiver to push his scoring anywhere near startability, and doesn't do enough with his tackle count before we even get to the ball winning ability. Nice player, just not for fantasy.
