Though he did not play a full NAB League season, Jack Mahony showed glimpses there and at the Championships to earn him a second-round draft pick with rates of 18 disposals at both levels. He has an all-round game, save perhaps for acceleration away from congestion. Mahony's body size would suggest that his talents might be used at AFL level as a small forward, following a long league history of converting junior mids to frontal pressure merchants. We shall see if his lack of quickness prevents that. He will most likely have to find his place at VFL level.
