Angus Anderson arrived on the Collingwood list as a mature-aged player at a time when the club was spending most of its energy honouring old greats who had lost a yard. With Steele Sidebottom and Jack Crisp mostly coming off wings and flanks these days, and games record holder Scott Pendlebury rested often, there is room in the inside midfield for the likes of Anderson, even though he starts forward. He has assumed the mid/forward role previously filled by Beau McCreery, who tends to stay forward these days. Still yet to realise his full potential at AFL level.
