  • 2020 DT PRE-SEASON OUTLOOK (posted 6 Jan 2020)
    Light fades for Redden
After his game shifted more to the outside in 2018 on the flag run, Jack Redden reverted to a more inside stat line last season with his ratio going from 9:11 to 13:11 and then 10:12 across the past three. Concurrent to that was a drop in metres gained per disposal from 13.4 to a flat ten, plus a slight shift away from marks towards tackles. These are relatively minor fluctuations, nevertheless, and he remains a solid part of the Eagles' B-rotation midfield.
Redden has the most to lose with the arrival of Tim Kelly, as the ex-Cat plays much the same sort of game with a higher ceiling. This is his last season before turning 30 and while it is perhaps too early to predict a cliff, there is a lot of downside risk in his fantasy value purely because of the changing midfield mix, much in the manner of Chris Masten's career tailing off. His draft position should fall through middle rounds, making him a solid asset worth looking for if he slides too far..

  • PLAYER DISCUSSION
You're right for all the wrong reasons "ffreak". Regardless that no one said they were alike, I wouldn't compare a future star like this with a guy at the end of his career. Redden could be twice the player Mitchell has been. The potential is there if he manages to play for as long. All that being said, they are completely different players. Get off your high horse. - God_ - 119 months ago
Anyone think this guy is like S Mitchell are kidding themself - ffreak - 121 months ago
Sam Mitchell all the way - spacko453 - 141 months ago
should i pick him up for 410K in 2 weeks? or go to mitchell? - Jormas - 141 months ago
will Redden score me 100+ in SC every week? - Hawks17 - 142 months ago
The next Matty Boyd? - Panther - 143 months ago
Very underrated youngster - Big Stick - 151 months ago
One of my favorite players. Really liked him ever since he came into the AFL. - windigo - 151 months ago
Thankyou for the 119. Was kicking myself for getting him in when he got 60 and 70 odd. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come - McLovin_ - 152 months ago

You duds should have picked him earlier like me. - Barlow - 153 months ago
good chance he'll come into my side this week too Harry :) would have been an awesome unique to take a risk on at the start of the year! - sheedz85 - 153 months ago
Such a champion, welcome to my dreamteam - Harry_West - 153 months ago
This guy will be the next big thing for the Lions (if they can keep him). Looks like he has some real talent. The Black and Power of tomorrow! Break-out year too. - Slashers - 153 months ago
Well it worked in the second half of the year. - loopy_cam - 156 months ago
and how has your theory worked so far, buddy? still only 19, give him a few years to get used to the game at the top level. - Kazakhstan - 163 months ago
Rich is my number one rookie in brisbane, but he will get tagged this year, Redden will be let loose and will rack em up for at least half the season. His value will rise and will ave 90+. My conclusion- Gun! - buddy - 167 months ago
