Jay Polkinghorne served a decent VFL apprenticeship before finally earning his spot in the senior Geelong team late this season, albeit only being picked due to a LTI to Jeremy Cameron. With Jezza on the sidelines until at least the start of next season, Polkinghorne has a window to prove his worth as a leading half forward. It is probably not the ageing but still starring Cameron he has to go past, as Oliver Henry has just been hanging onto his place this campaign. Polkinghorne's talents are more on the lead than Henry's preference for contests, so maybe they can all work together.
