2019 proved the year that Zaine Cordy would finally play every match in a season. The dependable defender held down key opposition forwards while occasionally pinch-hitting in the ruck. Cordy amassed over seven one-percenters per game, the best of any Bulldog, but also held the title as the worst-scoring Dog. As a no-fuss defender, Cordy has never been relevant for fantasy coaches and never will be. New recruit Alex Keath will play alongside him and play an intercept role while Cordy sits on his opponent's back shoulder similar to the way Keath's ex-teammate Daniel Talia does at the Crows. Next!

Tensile strength in Cordy
Entering his fifth season at the club, Zaine Cordy has seemingly put the injury concerns to bed and become a dependable option in the heart of the back line. The father-son selection was primarily tasked with a key defensive role, conceding 12 goals to the 11 opponents he played more than 40 minutes against. Integral to a Bulldogs rise up the ladder, Cordy will again be tasked with minimising his opponents’ output. The introduction of the 6-6-6 rule is likely to force an increase in one-on-one contests, an ability Cordy has improved. With a defence-first principle, Cordy should never make your fantasy list.
Flexibility for Cordy
As had been widely mooted in the off season, Zaine Cordy returned to defence from the forward role he had played in 2016 finals, and held down CHB for the team with only rare excursions into startable fantasy numbers. The Bulldogs still have their forward line woes, especially with the departure of Jake Stringer, so there is an outside chance Cordy will switch there at some stage. He is not going to turn into a natural fantasy player.
