A persistent ankle problem prevented Tom Murphy from building enough momentum in ten VFL games last year to merit a call up to add to his four senior games from 2018. Murphy is a deep defender without much work on the rebound in any case, so he will continue to be a back up to established senior players who is only picked due to injury to others.
Tom suffers Murphy's law

Thumbtacks on Tom
A lockdown small defender, Tom Murphy made his North Melbourne debut in 2018 and played four senior games in total. As one would expect for a young small defender, he found very little of the ball. Murphy is neither a likely best 22 starter or a fantasy scorer and, as such, should not be on the radar of fantasy coaches.
Murphy may be a furphy
Playing in a variety of roles, Tom Murphy averaged 22 disposals at TAC Cup level with most of them coming on the outside running from half back. This is not the former Hawk. Oh joy, another outside runner at the North Melbourne Gazelle's Graveyard. He'll enjoy circle work at training with the other boys, though tackle drills might be more taxing.
