A gruesome broken leg put a line through Tim Broomhead's 2018, finally rejoining the reserves 12 months later. While it was a slow burn to recovery, Broomhead impressed at the tail end, racking up 25+ possessions in three of his last four outings. Broomhead will relish another full preseason under his belt and will be eager to revert back to his 2015 form. If his VFL displays are good enough for long enough, he might see a senior call-up but don't hold your breath. Leave him out of draft plans.

Mop and bucket for Broomhead
When Tim Broomhead’s shin collided with the goalpost in round 2 llast year, his campaign was written off almost immediately. The leg break was made much worse for the young midfielder/forward by the fact that he was coming off a career-best season, playing 14 games with an average of 16 touches and 64 points per game. Broomhead has been struck with bad injury luck over his career, but he still sits outside of Buckley’s preferred team. As 2019 approaches and as Collingwood’s midfield is bolstered with stars old and new with the likes of Dayne Beams and an emerging Brayden Sier, Broomhead is unlikely to be a regular feature. Avoid this guy in the draft.
Cobwebs on Broomhead
The good news was that Tim Broomhead had his best year in season four with 14 senior games unaffected by injuries. The bad news was that he was ineffectual, booting a mere eight goals from a HFF. He was given more time in the middle in round 12 and delivered 23 touches, only the seventh time in his career above 20. Broomhead was keeping Chris Mayne out of the side, which is an admittedly low bar. He is the sort who looks a different player at the lower level, so it's going to be a matter of coaching to replicate that play in AFL matches. Collingwood's forward line has stunk for years, and Broomhead is not helping. He will likely go undrafted.
