A poorly-timed incident at a Sydney nightclub last June might have derailed Taylor Garner's return to the senior side after demotion to the VFL for all of 2018. He was picked for the last five games, in which he continued his career-long trend of failing to meet low expectations. Garner must surely be on his last chance in a contract year, just the sort of list clogger that a good team can't tolerate. Specifically, he should be very worried about the arrival of Aiden Bonar, who obviously has a higher ceiling in the same role. He is not worth a zack in fantasy drafts.
Garner on the nose

Taylor a bit too tubby
A player with a long list of talents and a longer list of injuries, Taylor Garner’s career might well be on the line in 2019. Riddled by hamstring injuries, Garner has managed just 34 senior games in six seasons with North Melbourne. If he is fit at the time of drafting, Garner is worth a flier in the final rounds of deep leagues. If everything goes right for him, he could perform at a high level.
Garner flies like big bird
The Taylor Garner highlight reel from 2017 contained some fabulous flashes, including a mark of the year contender. In between, he did not work hard enough near the footy until the last six weeks where he started averaging in the 80s for fantasy points. A fair few North players ballooned their stats out in that period after the season was shot, so perhaps we can discount some of those scores for Garner as things are not always going to be that easy. He has undeniable upside going into season six, and should be picked up somewhere near middle rounds.
