Tarryn learns the trade
20 games in his debut season was an excellent return for Tarryn Thomas, most often lining up on a HFF. His goal haul of 16.15 included five bags of two, though his infrequent startable scores came more often when his disposal rate lifted above 15. As is often the case with a young flanker, we like what we see but we just need more out of Thomas. That will come with time, though year two is still probably a little early for fantasy use. He is of more interest in keeper leagues, as his long-term upside is considerable.

A midfielder with attacking flair, Thomas appears likely to begin his career at AFL level at half forward. He is known for his skills and X-factor rather than as a prolific ball-winner. Due to his talent, Thomas should be watched closely in the preseason competition and snapped up late in drafts if he looks like making an immediate impact.
