Alabakis is a lab experiment
The third player at his towering height to join the AFL, Sam Alabakis comes from three years in Louisiana college basketball though he played Australian football and rugby union in his junior years. Alabakis is a category B rookie and will spend a lot of time relearning the sport at the lower levels, with a small chance of a late taster at senior level if things really fall apart.
