Three late inclusions helped Ryan Nyhuis on his way to eight senior matches in 2018. A 21-touch, nine-mark outing as a defender highlighted his campaign, which was mostly filled with roll uncertainty and sub-50 scores. The Northern Territory product was in and out of the Dockers lineup and never really established any sort of consistency Nyhuis enters 2019 as a depth player for the Dockers who would only get the call up in the event of injuries or poor form to regular starters. Coaches might remember his four-goal display on debut in 2017 but don’t be fooled by that outlier, having only kicked one more goal in his career thereafter. For Nyhuis, it’s a pretty simple decision to pass.

Nyhuis in icehouse
It took 20 WAFL games in the backline across two seasons for Ryan Nyhuis to get his chance to play senior footy, only to find himself in a defensive forward role. Four goals from nine touches on debut against North proved to be a one-off, with one major from his three other appearances in between more WAFL time in defence. To be fair to him, Nyhuis's natural game is stopping others from playing, not making the play himself. Whatever Ross Lyon decides to do with him, if anything, it is unlikely to interest fantasy coaches as he has struggled to reach baseline for backs in either role and he could not sustain his audition for more than one act.
