Barring an ill-advised and short-lived experiment playing up the ground by the new coach, Robbie Tarrant spent all of 2019 in his customary full back position, delivering startable scores half the time when he got involved in uncontested marks behind the play in classic key defender style. You don't want a player like Tarrant anywhere near your side if you are interested in fantasy floors, as his can be sub-40 just at the very moment you're looking for that occasional 80. Try not to be so desperate as to look seriously at him in the free agent pool.
Let Robbie not entertain you

Tarrant tarries deep
A key defender with sizeable defensive duties, Robbie Tarrant is an excellent footballer but poor on the stat line. His career best season in 2017 only saw him reach 73 fantasy points per game. Barring a role change that frees him up significantly, Tarrant is unlikely to be a relevant fantasy player and should not be drafted.
Robbie the rebounder
The top rebounder at the Roos is not a HBF but Robbie Tarrant playing on the opoosition's best key forward, good enough to make top 15 for the league in that stat for several years. He added an extra handball to last year's stat line to push his trailing average just beyond 70 fantasy points, with about three-quarters of his games in startable range. The demise of Lachlan Hansen and a switch up the spine with Scott D. Thompson has meant that Tarrant has now become the premier interceptor at the Roos mostly at CHB, and he had plenty of footy flying towards him in 2017. For a tall defender, his variability is pretty low which means he's a low-end starter and should be drafted late.
