Despite some stiff competition for a HBF spot at Port last season, Riley Bonner put together another 19-game campaign to back up his 2018 breakout with almost exactly the same shape and volume on the stat sheet. Bonner's job security increased even further with the delisting of Matthew Broadbent, plus the move of Dan Houston to midfield. Unfortunately, his scoring floor is too low for fantasy coaches to have confidence for weekly use as a starter.
Bonne chance starting Bonner

Bonner on hot tin roof
Those who drafted Riley Bonner last season in the hope he would nail down a half back spot left open by injuries would have been well pleased with his first month or two, where he posted some very startable scores including a round 1 ton. The second half of his campaign flagged considerably as he dropped 18 points in fantasy averages, and he was forced to field media questions about his endurance in the off season. The return of Hamish Hartlett and Matthew Broadbent plus the recruitment of Ryan Burton leaves Bonner down the depth charts at half back, which is why he has been openly speculating about a move to a wing to replace the departed Jared Polec. This would suit his skill set more, but he will face competition there as well. Even a hot JLT would not be enough to convince many fantasy coaches who have already marked his card.
Quiet life of Riley
It took until round 22 for Riley Bonner to return to the senior Power side in place of Matthew Broadbent after playing the last game of 2016, and he kept his spot for the final to average 18 disposals at a respectable 80% efficiency off a HBF. Going into season three, Bonner will have his chance in the JLT, though he did last year as well and didn't crack it for a regular senior gig. His job security is highly questionable, which makes him free agent fodder in draft leagues.
