Entering his third season on the list, Oscar Clavarino will be desperate to debut in the upcoming season. A syndesmosis injury suffered last year cut his run short, eventually forcing him to play out the season in the VFL. Clavarino's debut aim was made more difficult by the arrival of Dougal Howard. A clean health bill is necessary to push his case. Yet to make his debut and a key position scoring defender, look elsewhere.
Oscar to stay grouchy

Clever to ignore Clavarino
A raw key defender, Oscar Clavarino is still developing physically and is unlikely to see much, if any, senior action in 2019. He suffered a high ankle sprain in a February intraclub match that delayed his start. Developing key defenders aren't normally fantasy relevant and Clavarino should be no different, making him undraftable even before the injury.
Clavarino is a proton type
Going at rates of around 15 disposals in his last junior year, Oscar Clavarino most often played as an intercept defender with six marks per game, though he struggled to compete in contests. There is a lot to work with in Clavarino, particularly his disposals skills. He needs to put some weight on though, and will probably take a while to come on like Dylan Roberton in the same role.
