Ollie Lord has spent a long apprenticeship at Port Adelaide, a club whose fortunes have risen and fallen over many years with the fitness and form of their spearhead Charlie Dixon. With the old campaigner definitely in the twilight of his career and currently injured, it is probably time for Ken Hinkley to commit to Lord as the focal point of the Power attack going forward. He may not have the physical presence of Dixon yet at the age of 22, though it can't be too far away and he probably deserves a solid run in the seniors to develop it. One to watch for Supercoach.

Ollie Lord is full forward for Port Adelaide in the continued absence of Charlie Dixon, and if the Chuckwagon misses finals then his role becomes even more important for the Power as they chase a second AFL flag to go with their countless SANFL collection. Port's fate during the Dixon era has been tied mostly to the fitness of Dixon and his troublesome ankles, but nothing last forever and it may be Lord on whose shoulders the club has to put all the weight of straightening their attack up.
