Max King is the barometer of St Kilda's fortunes, and the reading has been decidedly stormy of late. Full forward is a position that requires and relies upon confidence, and King has very little of that at the moment. It shows up in his goalkicking, but it also manifests in his lack of effort sometimes. If you want to invest some fantasy treasure in St Kilda players next year you are hoping that things turn around for the club, which made finals two years ago but has since underperformed. Getting King happy and kicking straight would be a great start.

The arrival of the King
After recovering from an ACL injury, Max King succumbed to an ankle injury while on the precipice of debut last year. The youngster kicked 11 goals in five outings for the VFL side, demonstrating his lethal kicking and aerial ability. King is on an individualised preseason as the Saints fitness staff take extra care of their young star. A dominant key forward throughout his junior career and displaying signs in twos, expect an early debut without fantasy relevance in the short term.
Waiting game for King
Still recovering from a knee reconstruction, Max King's first season in the AFL is unlikely to yield any senior games. The talented young key forward will be focused on getting fit and finding some form in the VFL in the second half of the season.
