Adams joins new family
Foot, ankle and shoulder injuries restricted Marcus Adams to six senior games in his last year at the Bulldogs before a trade to the Lions. Despite the Dogs' key forward woes, he spent those games all in defence. Adams's role at Brisbane is likely to be equally defence-oriented, but his scoring is not consistently above the baseline at either end so he's safe to leave in the free agent pool even if he has a perfect preseason.
Frankly, Adams is apples
The mid-foot Lisfranc injury problem that put Marcus Adams out for the second half of 2016 also ended last season early, both from incidents in games against Sydney. He was used in attack a couple of times and did a decent job on Alex Rance while keeping up his marking rate and booting a couple of goals. As a fantasy player, Adams is a plus-six merchant with marks and kicks central to his value. The arrival of Jackson Trengove means he may start forward a lot more often in 2018, and on a small sample size this could be a good thing. He has some upside in season three as a mature-ager, and should be picked up late.
