Lincoln McCarthy was in the votes last week with a crucial contribution in an unimpressive win over the lowly Kangaroos, with his importance reflected more in his Supercoach score. As a classic half forward flank who doesn't rotate through the centre much, his best game is built on hard-fought possessions inside 50, with 11 of his 13 touches against North being contested. Toby Greene gets all the press, and Linc is somewhat of a K-Mart Toby in the modern fantasy vernacular, but he's an interesting play in daily fantasy formats as his ceiling is decently high on his rare days out.

Lincoln an able converter
Injury-riddled during his time in the hoops, Lincoln McCarthy turned out for all fixtures and duly led the Lions small forward contingent. The former Cat was key to coach Chris Fagan's fanatical forward press, registering a career high in tackles. McCarthy slowed toward the end of the season, kicking one major in his final eight. An outstanding contributor to the Lions in several aspects, like most opportunist forwards across the league McCarthy is one that fails to transfer that to fantasy output. A highly skilled creative force, all fantasy coaches should watch from afar and appreciate his talent.
Lincoln rolls log north
After seven extremely unlucky years at Geelong with a string of soft tissue injuries, Lincoln McCarthy started his first preseason at Brisbane without needing surgery. McCarthy will hope to emulate the late renaissance of the career of another Cat alumnus in Daniel Menzel. Even if fit, his role does not give one confidence of meaningful fantasy scores.
Luckless Lincoln
Groin and hip surgeries meant Lincoln McCarthy played only three senior games last season, making it more than half of his six listed years that he has missed through LTIs. His startable games are rare collector's items. McCarthy is highly likely to resume in the VFL to build match fitness for one last crack at making a go of his career, Daniel Menzel style. He is not worth consideration for drafting.
