A spot opened up for rookie draftee Lachie Young in round 5 when incumbents succumbed to injury. When they returned, Young was sent to Footscray to continue developing his defensive ability. In the small sample seen, the emerging Dog's aerial ability stood out. Young looms as a reserves player as 2020 approaches. If he can again crack the senior line up, he won't accumulate so he should be far from your radar.
Young is far away

Plenty to unlock
An efficient user by foot, Lachlan Young enters the professional football system twelve months after being first overlooked. He split his football between the Dandenong Stingrays (TAC Cup) and Frankston (VFL), averaging 13 touches per outing. The half back enjoyed a standout performance for Frankston in his final appearance with 28 touches and seven intercept marks. Young’s 2019 season will be sharply focused on developing his attributes at the lower level. His body shape will minimise his ability to play on taller types and thus he must improve his offensive production. A limited ball winner at the junior level, that is unlikely to transition to a fantasy scorer anytime soon.
