The not hot Tippett
Kurt Tippett’s ruck/forward eligibility is a wanted asset in fantasy; his injury record is not. Not since 2010 has the big man played out an entire season. After struggling with form and fitness in 2017, battling a troublesome ankle injury as well as being dropped early on for poor performance, the ex-Crow could only muster up nine games. Tippett is a hot and cold player, with a desirable ability to rack up hit outs as well as kick a few goals. Keep an eye on him during preseason, because a fit and firing Tippett warrants a position in starting fantasy line-ups. He will slide in fantasy rankings and could be a handy pickup in the latter half of your draft.
Tippett comes to tipping point
Kurt Tippett had many a fantasy coach eager with anticipation during the pre-season, due to his expected form explosion and listing as both a forward and a ruck. However, his own performances throughout season 2010 have echoed those of the rest of his team, as he has slumped to an appalling Dream Team average of just under 58 points per game, well down on his 2009 average of 72.6.
With his team showing some signs of improvement heading into the second half of the season, and having a price tag of more than $70,000 cheaper than his original, the tall Queenslander looms as a genuine possibility as a unique pick-up for brave fantasy coaches in search of an edge over their opponents. Tread very carefully…
