Like many Eagles, Kurt Mutimer couldn't break into the senior team's midfield last season despite decent WAFL form, averaging 17 disposals and four tackles albeit those numbers were actually down from his 2017 campaign. Mutimer was a victim of Adam Simpson's decision to back a smaller cadre of midfielders to take a bigger load in the senior side, as he didn't pick fringe runners outside his core group much at all. He isn't draftable at this stage.
Kurt's timer still ticking

Mutimer more turtle than ninja
Showing good improvement in his second WAFL season to reach 20 disposals with 20 added to his fantasy average to take it to 83, Kurt Mutimer couldn't reproduce that form in a four-game block in the ones before the bye. Mutimer will join the battle for a wing spot at the new Perth stadium, and he has a shot since the blokes in front of him like Lewis Jetta and Chris Masten aren't that flash. He is probably starting a bit too far back for a flier pick though.
