Signed through the special assistance state league priority access grant, tall forward Josh Corbett added a hardened body to the Suns' youthful forward half. Starting his year in the NEAFL following an injury riddled preseason, he kicked two goals on debut in the Q Clash. Flitting between the NEAFL and AFL throughout his debut season, Corbett will aim for regular AFL football in 2020. Traditionally key forwards tend towards poor fantasy scoring with peaks and troughs depending on near-unpredictable factors, and nothing suggests he is an outlier.
Another loss for Corbett

Corbett is Johnny on the spot
Despite a poke to the eye that left him partially blind for three weeks last year, Josh Corbett joins the Suns from Werribee in the VFL off the back of 21 goals from eight full games, with amazing rate of three contested out of eight marks per game and a fantasy scoring average of 83. He suffered from glandular fever and an ankle injury that stunted his development in previous years. Assuming he can get through preseason unscathed, Corbett should line up for Gold Coast in the seniors in round 1 because in the post-Tom J. Lynch era, they haven't got many other options for key forwards. CHF is his for the taking, and while you can't expect Lynch-like numbers out of him, he will get a lot of hype from salary cap formats and should be on someone's roster in your league.
