Jordon Butts is part of a key position depth chart at Adelaide that has been variable in 2026. Mark Keane is nominally at the top of it with responsibility for the opposition's best tall forward, preferably operating from full back. This is probably also the best starting spot for Butts and James Borlase, with Nick Murray also handed the biggest job at times this year... before the latter was dropped this week. What is the pecking order amongst the Crows this week, when Mitch Georgiades looms? Big Butts probably gets first crack, with Borlase close behind.

Butts begins to smoulder
Coming off a junior career played at times in all three sectors of the ground, the Crows settled Jordon Butts in their SANFL defence in his first listed season where he averaged 16 disposals, five marks and 62 fantasy points to finish fourth in club award voting. Butts has to catch fire a lot quicker than that to be seen standing at the end of a long line of soldiers waiting for a key position spot in Adelaide. Barring a massive raft of injuries to established stars he won't see much senior action, if at all.
