Delisted by the Cats at the end of the 2018 season, Jordan Murdoch offered service for the Suns after receiving a lifeline. The athletic rebounder declined in disposal, mark and tackle output, struggling in an oft-uncompetitive side. Murdoch will continue to seek opportunity in the AFL side, missing eight matches due to form and injury during the second half of the season. A perennially average accumulator; expect average production for the upcoming campaign.

River Jordan flows to dead sea
For an astronaut like Jordan Murdoch whose main attributes are speed to get away from contests so that he doesn't feel under pressure for disposal, you need to be able to get the pill at least 20 times per match. He never got near that mark in seven seasons at Geelong. The Gabba is strewn with the ghosts of wingmen from the recent past who were starved of supply. Murdoch's best form at the Cattery was still ten points off the midfielder baseline, and those numbers look even further away now that he's on the outside of a less than stellar engine room.
Jordan Murdoch is the sort of player who does well when his team does well, and he filled his boots in big wins over the Saints and Lions this year. Outside of that, though, his media score is not startable in any format, as the Cats more regularly go through Sam Menegola if they are looking for a half forward flanker to use as a conduit to goal. Fantasy coaches with an eye to the future will take a strong interest in him going into his third season in 2019, if only as a late flier pick in draft leagues with the potential to become a low-end starter.
Murdoch not so locky
In his sixth season, Jordan Murdoch managed to play most games for the third time in his career, avoiding injury just like the way he avoids most contests. His role moved up the ground from attack to the wing, which suited his style even though he could only manage three games of 20+ disposals. Fantasy coaches in draft leagues have high expectations for startability, and despite Murdoch posting a personal best average last year, he's still not at a level where coaches want to pick him. With one of the best midfields in the land feeding him, he just doesn't get involved often enough.
